We're blasted!

April 12

A few extra holes to finish what the first blasting missed. This machine made it look easy.

BC Hydro came today and conncted our power line up the driveway. Next week when the big digger comes back, Mike won't have to dodge the power line!

Final blasting done and they're back to remove the blasting matts . We have the driveway back! This is great but be carefull backing down in the dark, there's a mighty big hole to fall into.

The new footings. Oliver drilled into the bedrock and anchored them with rebar. Howard now needs a new Makita hammer drill like theirs.

The excavation is complete! We're now out of destruction and into construction - we actually have swadust on site. Hopefully I won't have to unhook the sewer line again for a bit.

There's always a machine to do the work. This is the wood for the foundation forms arriving.
